Instagram to be more like Facebook

Definitely the social news of the week, Instagram is integrating an algorithm similar to the Facebook one, so that we see the “moments we care about first”.

The Facebook-owned platfrorm explains this choice on its blog, saying that users miss on average 70 percent of the items in their feeds because the volume of content is too large.

To help users make sure they don’t miss the most interesting content, the order of photos and videos in the feed will be based on the likelihood we’ll be interested in the content, our relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post. Unlike Facebook, users will be able to see all posts but they will have to scroll for a long time to see them if they are judged not to be interesting.

Google launches Google Analytics 360

Google has unveiled a new platform featuring 6 webmarketing tools named Google Analytics 360 Suite. With this, the web giant aims to provide more solutions to companies and marketers following customers’ actions and helping to set marketing strategies.

In this package, we find classic Google tools like Google Analytics 360, but also new ones including Google Audience Center 360 (to analyse customers across several channels) or Google Optimze 360 (to run A/B tests).

Facebook to provide more profile picture frames

Via his own Facebook account, Mark Zuckerberg shared a promising message about profile picture frames. Launched last year and made famous across the platform by the arrival of the French national flag filter after the Paris attacks, this feature is experiencing great growth with now hundreds of frames.

The feature was used massively in India and in Pakistan last week during the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, to promote peace between two countries. Indeed, Indian cricket fans used the Pakistani frame and Pakistani fans did the same, using the hashtag #ProfilesForPeace.

Before seeing brands’ frames, this story should inspire Facebook to unite more people via this feature.

Something pretty interesting is happening in India and Pakistan on Facebook right now. Last week marked the beginning…
