As part of the Football Fans Survey 2011 carried out by FootballFanCast.com in association with ZOO Magazine, Football FanCast was invited onto talkSPORT to talk about the results. Snack Media MD Niall Coen was on the phone on the Hawksbee and Jacobs show yesterday afternoon and discussed the survey, along with the prevailing thoughts of football fans across the country right now. The research sought the opinion of more than 1,000 football fans in the UK across a variety of topics, including who the next England manager should be and whether supporters are more tolerant of cheating on the pitch or off it.

British football fans admit they’d be more disappointed with football players cheating on the pitch, than cheating on their own partners (75%), according to research with over 1,000 British football fans in the Football Fans Survey 2011, brought to you by ZOO Magazine and FootballFanCast.com. Although clearly passionate about the game of football, unsexy football-loving Brits also say that they would do without any bedroom action for the beautiful game, with 54% of all football fans choosing ‘football’ over ‘sex’, if they had to choose one. Furthermore, half of football fans (51%) named Harry Redknapp as their next preferred England manager, voted Steven Gerrard as the nation’s best Premier League player and would most like to go for a pint with Ryan Giggs.

FootballFanCast.com scores in the FA Cup 4th Round!

At the weekend the FA Cup 4th round treated us to a couple of shocks, most notably Leyton Orient beating Championship high flyers Swansea and non-league Crawley defeating Torquay to set up a fairy tale tie with Manchester United at Old Trafford in the 5th round. There also looked to be a shock on the cards at St Andrew’s as Coventry City raced into a 2-0 lead against Birmingham City, only for the Blues to stage a comeback and secure a 3-2 victory. Coventry City’s second goal, a towering Richard Wood header from a Gary McSheffrey corner in the 26th minute, saw the Championship team establish a two goal lead before the Sky Blues were overpowered by their Premier League opposition. As Wood powered his header past Birmingham City goalkeeper Kevin Doyle, FootballFanCast.com was featured on the electronic advertising boards behind the goal as St Andrew’s.
