Arsenal tweeted your message to our supporters and although I’m one of many home and away fans I wanted to tell you about a remarkable man called Ernie Crouch who has been supporting The Arsenal since 1934

Not only does Ernie go to every home and away match but he also goes to all the Arsenal ladies matches, the under 19’s and the reserve matches. Ernie remembers watching the all the greats such as Ted Drake and Cliff Bastin through to Arsenal’s modern day heroes such as Bergkamp and Henry

Of recent Ernie has suffered ailing health and has had several nasty falls, but as soon as he is back on his feet his first thoughts are getting back behind his team

In a time when the phrase ‘Super fan’ is applied so frequently Ernie epitomises the term legend. He’s never been one to boast, bask in the limelight or chase publicity, he simply shrugs it all off and just sees it as supporting his team…something he’s always done

Ernie will be celebrating his 90th birthday on 14 July and it would be great if he could be nominated for fan of the season and be recognised for all the loyal support which he has given The Arsenal for over 80 years
