Brand Safety and Suitability
At Snack Media Ltd, we believe that audience engagement should never come at the expense of brand integrity. Building and maintaining brand trust relies on ensuring absolute advertiser comfort. We achieve this through strict compliance with IAB Guidelines and the meticulous curation of our publishing network.
This policy outlines our standards for content alignment, explicitly defining what is forbidden on our network and how we handle sensitive, borderline material.
1. Inventory Curation & Network Standards
We maintain a safe, trusted environment for both advertisers and publishers through rigorous oversight:
- Meticulous Vetting: Every publisher is thoroughly audited before entering our network.
- Continuous Monitoring: We ensure ongoing compliance with industry-standard brand safety benchmarks.
- Zero Tolerance for High-Risk Content: We actively exclude inventory that compromises a brand’s reputation.
2. Prohibited Content Categories
Content appearing on the Snack Media Ltd network must not depict, support, or promote subjects within the following categories.
These areas are strictly off-limits:
- Copyright Infringement: Any unauthorized use, distribution, or reproduction of copyrighted material.
- Explicit Content: Pornography, bestiality, and graphic violence (excluding legitimate, non-educational/non-newsworthy contexts).
- Abuse: Content depicting, promoting, or glorifying any form of physical, emotional, sexual, or child abuse.
- Illegal Activities: Content promoting, facilitating, or instructing participation in criminal acts (e.g., drug use, violence, weapons trafficking).
- Hate Speech: Content targeting or promoting discrimination based on gender, race, age, national origin, ethnicity, socioeconomic class, sexual orientation, or religion.
- Misinformation: Demonstrably false or misleading content that causes harm to individuals, communities, or institutions.
- Medical Dishonesty: Content contradicting established medical guidelines or promoting unproven, harmful health practices.
- Election Disruption: Spreading disinformation regarding elections or actively undermining trust in democratic processes.
3. Sensitive & Borderline Content
Some content walks a tightrope, balancing real-world sensitivity with educational value or legitimate news coverage. While these “borderline” cases are not explicitly forbidden, they require careful consideration and deep alignment with specific advertiser preferences before being accepted.
- Tragedy and Violence: News coverage of accidents, conflicts, or criminal acts that may feature disturbing narratives or visuals.
- Medical Procedures & Bodily Fluids: Graphic medical imagery which, despite its educational or newsworthy nature, can be unsettling to certain audiences.
- Controversial Issues: Discussions regarding sensitive social, cultural, or political topics. These require objective, unbiased handling to maintain standard brand suitability.
4. Compliance and Review
Snack Media Ltd reserves the right to immediately suspend or terminate any inventory found in violation of these guidelines. By prioritizing responsible publishing, we ensure our network remains a premium, secure space for global brands.
