Manchester United’s official app, released late in 2018, has become one of the most downloaded football apps in the world and is said to be performing at a higher rate than apps from other clubs. This comes as additional good news to the club in a year where they are set to make £630m in revenue from new partnerships.

A technical error during Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League mid-week tie against Manchester United enabled over 1 million domestic viewers to watch a free stream on Facebook, breaching PSG’s exclusive rights deal with RMC Sport’s. The Facebook stream had been scheduled for viewers in Brazil but due to a geo-locking error was able to be streamed in France as well.

England Rugby has released a new “We Play Rugby” campaign. The focus is in grassroots rugby and variations of the sport including o2 Touch. The campaign debuted at England’s first home fixture of the 2019 Six Nations against France on Saturday.

The NBA esport league, NBA2K, has increased its winning prize pool by a further $200,000 taking the total up to $1.2m. This is further evidence that the demand for esports continues to grow year on year. Every player in the league will receive a minimum of $33,000 as a base salary.
