Facebook recently hosted it’s annual F8 conference. The company announced several new research areas, like direct brain-computer typing and hearing through skin. It’s also creating 360 cameras for companies, expanding augmented reality features, launching a frame studio for users to create frames, and greatly expanding the capabilities of Messenger.

Snapchat has acquired the patent from geofilters for $7.7 million from Mobli, the company that launched geofilters six years ago. Of Snap’s $400 million revenue, $360 million was made by selling geofilters.

Instagram has just rolled out a new photo collection feature, taking a page out of Pinterest’s book. Users can now tap and hold on the “bookmark” feature to save photos to private collections.

Twitter has just launched in-stream video ads due to the increased importance of streaming video content. This feature will allow brands to air mid-roll ads in addition to pre-roll ads.
