Snack Social Summary-Snapchat allows US customers to purchase Spectacles, Youtube’s “unskippable” adverts, and Facebook’s dominant apps tool

Snapchat have started to sell their unique social media spectacles online. In the United States anyone can purchase a set of Snapchat Spectacles online for a cost of $129.99. Previously, to get your hands on the accessories you had to wait for a snapbot to appear in an area near you. The specs come with a case and charger. These are also sold individually for a price of $49.99 and $9.99 respectively. Snapchat Spectacles offer users a new experiences and a different option to film and post online.

This week, YouTube have announced that they will be phasing out 30 second adverts. Instead they will be concentrating on shorter ads. YouTube hopes that by using the new format it will offer a better advertising experience for users and provide better results for advertisers.

Instagram have released a new feature on their App which allows users to post up to 10 images at once in a scrollable sequence. You can also post videos in this set. Instagram hopes that the ability to post scrollable sets of images on one theme will offer a greater user and follower experience.

Facebook announced this week that the analytics for their Apps tool is being used by 1 million different businesses, websites, Apps and bots. The Analytics App is a useful tool which allows users to measure and optimise customer experiences and online products. Facebook is expected to continue to develop this App by adding new features to the product which will help get better results.
