Instagram testing in-app analytics

Instagram has revealed brand new analytics options for business profiles only. It will be accessible thanks to a chart icon in the app. The main features for this in-app analytics are access to demographics, telling you who and where your audience are, top posts, filtered by engagement, and insights such as reach, link clicks, impressions and follower activity.

These analytics are a very good addition for brand profiles. Earlier this month, Instagram tested a “Contact” button to interact with businesses.

NASA takes Snapchat into space

To celebrate the 100,000th orbit of the International Space Station around earth, NASA partnered with Snapchat to create a Live Story for a day in space. You were able to discover and experience what goes on in space on board the ISS with NASA astronaut Tim Kopra to entertain the Story with interesting facts, funny videos and sublime views of earth.

Facebook premieres its first 360° film

Facebook has released its first 360-degree video called “Here and Now” shot on the new Facebook Surround 360 camera, which costs $30,000.

In this video, you can see Grand Central Terminal in New York and the stories that unfold there. You can experience different emotions and situations such as happiness with people taking selfies, anger with a couple arguing, or sadness with parents saying goodbye to a departing daughter.

You can watch the short film on mobile, desktop and the Oculus Rift app with a Gear VR.

Google launches messenger app with AI assistant

Ahead of the I/O 2016, an annual software developer-focused conference, Google has presented some amazing projects and technological advancements, but one of the most intriguing tech announcements is Google Allo, due this Summer.

Google Allo is a new Facebook Messenger competitor app, only for mobile, with an AI assistant. Indeed, this artificial intelligence is called Google Assistant and will work just like Siri on iPhone, proposing suggestions for further searches and engaging you in a conversation with the AI.
