It has been an emotional day in the world of Twitter. A new update means that Twitter have replaced the well-known and iconic favourite symbol, the star, with a heart to symbolise “a like”:

There was a mixed response on the platform.
Brands such as Lidl jumped on the opportunity to promote their Christmas campaigns (we still think it’s too early…)
The #hearts not to your liking? Fear not, our #SchoolOfChristmas will be handing out gold #stars to the best pupils over the next 8 weeks!
