Since 15th August 2015, the NHS and Give Blood have launched their new campaign encouraging the public to register as blood donors.

With backing from Rugby stars such as Jonny Wilkinson, Martin Johnson and Matt Dawson, the campaign has been influential in encouraging more people to give blood.

It’s clear that social media has been hugely effective in boosting this wonderful message, with 64% of the 100,000 people target already met.

Here are some of the best social media posts surrounding #BleedForEngland 2015:

It’s not only rugby super-stars that have gotten involved in the game. North London football giants Tottenham Hotspur helped to raise awareness for this crucial cause:

Leicester Tigers prop Dan Cole took time away from his World Cup preparations to star in Boots’ donor registration advert. Who knew he was such a comedian!

A touching video including some of England’s world-cup winning heroes really hit home the important message of giving blood:

Rugby World Cup sponsors Hilton got James Haskell to be their door-man for the day on Park Lane, with hilarious consequences:

The campaign even got picked up by Sky News, who took the time to discuss #BleedForEngland with some of its founders:

And finally, driving instructor giants RED even helped to spread the word, by fitting as many players as they could in a Vauxhall Corsa, a remarkable achievement given the size of the occupants!

Overall the campaign has been a massive successive, but it is important that the NHS hit their target before the tournament ends! Make sure to go and sign up today! #BleedForEngland
