Footballers have these extravagant lifestyles that it’s very difficult for the average working-class person to understand; many of us could not begin to comprehend earning £30,000 a week. As far as we know they do a bit of running around a pitch, train a couple of hours, go to exquisite clubs and parties and own far too many shoes. So, when we get an insight into their lives, a small glimpse into this very niche world it’s all we can do to ask personal questions and hope for entertaining answers.
Football FanCast gets the opportunity every so often to interview some of the best – so here is a roundup of some the best interviews we’ve done recently…
1. Darren Bent
Now playing on loan from Villa at Fulham FC, FootballFanCast recently had the opportunity to catch-up with him and get to hear about his extravagant shoe collection! We got the low-down on recent difficulties in his professional career that had been heavily publicised (like any good journalist would) but just as importantly we wanted to know the inside gossip on his teammates.
Bent on Berbatov: He looks like Bulgarian Mafia!

2. Uwe Rosler
Former Manchester City player, Rosler is now the new European Football Analyst. We had the opportunity to meet up with him and talk about his new job analysing the Bundesliga, juggling his managerial responsibilities at Brentford, as well as giving us the low-down on Premier League and Bundesliga players and clubs.
On his time playing for Manchester City: My first season was very special as I scored the most goals in the league for the club.

3. Juan Mata
Chelsea fans, be jealous. We met the brilliant Juan Mata at the Adidas Store to talk to him about his time at Chelsea and career so far. He’s like the Spanish version of David Beckham – softly spoken, polite and always has a smile on his face. No matter how hard the start to this season has been for him, he’s thinking positively and not being defeatist. It was a Juan-derful interview!
And his description of London: I love London. It’s like lots of cities within a city.
