This week, Snack Media strengthened their partnership with Absolute Radio, by sending four keen bloggers with exclusive access to the UK radio station’s ‘Lads’ Night In’, which took place on Tuesday 5th March direct from Wembley Stadium. This saw them watch the eagerly anticipated Champions League second leg tie between Manchester United and Real Madrid alongside ex-professionals.

Absolute Radio’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Football radio show is hosted by ex-Arsenal striker Ian Wright every Saturday and Wrighty gave listeners the chance to win a place at the next ‘Lads’ Night In’ that specifically took place at the Bobby Moore Club Wembley suite. Absolute Radio listeners got a once-in-a-lifetime chance to win an invitation to the event by donating to the Prince’s Trust – Absolute Radio’s chosen charity for the 2012/13 football campaign.

Pre-match attendees were treated to a private Q&A session with the Rock ‘N’ Roll Football presenters Ian Wright, Russ Williams and Jim Proudfoot, as well as Arsenal legend Perry Groves and Prince’s Trust Ambassador and former Manchester United striker Dion Dublin.

The event comprised a live auction, the chance to have your photo taken with Ian Wright and the FA Cup trophy, while there was also an opportunity to take away signed memorabilia. All proceeds went to the Prince’s Trust who help disadvantaged young people across the UK.

The ‘Lads’ Night In’ followed on from the fruitful partnership deal that saw Snack Media’s flagship football webzine FootballFanCast.com advertised live on the radio station’s airwaves, which receives one million plus listeners, in return for media space through sister agency Sports Revolution’s in-stadia advertising inventory.

In the lead up to the ‘Lads’ Night In’, the event was promoted throughout Snack Media’s social platforms and the four bloggers tweeted about what turned out to be a controversial tie live from the home of English football, resulting in a total exposure of 567,000 on Twitter. Post-match editorials were submitted to FootballFanCast.com with pageviews in excess of 5,000 and growing.

Absolute Radio’s ‘Lads’ Night In’ raised over £3000 for the Princes Trust.
