Football FanCast’s Euro 2012 Live Blog

Snack Media ventured into new territory for Euro 2012 as Football FanCast led a live blog for the tournament’s second semi-final between Germany and Italy.

Euro 2012 was a tournament that captured the imagination of football fans from across Europe. Not only were fans engrossed by what they were seeing on their TV screens, but they were also interacting with the action on a much larger scale than ever before, with social media platforms such as Twitter playing a key role in this. Football FanCast built on this and conducted a live blog for the second Euro 2012 semi-final between Germany and Italy.

More than a dozen bloggers travelled to Stamford Bridge, the home of Chelsea FC, to blog as the action was taking place. The interactivity between the bloggers was great and the involvement of the wider public added to the experience, with the live blog having a global reach of more than 1.5 million football fans.
