Snack Social Summary-Twitter’s “monetised moments” and the change in media relations surrounding the F1

Twitter is expected to introduce full-screen ads on Twitter Mobile app in the next few weeks, with the aim of expanding their Ad format inventory for advertisers. The so-called ‘monitised moments’, will showcase what is happening on twitter, showing off big sports events, award ceremonies and elections. A full-screen advert is a new option and one which will appear on Twitter Moments.

This week Snack Media’s Sales Manager Calum Hopkins wrote a blog article on the top 5 tips when pitching for new business. Following the 5 tips within, as well as staying confident, prepared and showing off your companies strengths will put you one step closer to winning new business contracts.

This week Instagram gave its mobile website a huge upgrade adding new core features onto the site. The upgrade now offers users photo sharing, the explore tab as well as the main app. On the desktop site there is still no uploading of videos, but with the Instagrams developments, it looks like they are on their way to developing an integrated mobile website.

The battle for video content on social media is competitive at the moment with all the social media sites battling it out to sign live streaming deals. One of the leading is Twitter and this week they took this one step further. Twitter TV is now available to download from Roku’s Channel Store, this provides users with the ability to download and watch all of Twitters live streaming offers in a simple click, even without having to go on to Twitter itself.

The F1 introduced new rules at the end of 2016 in time for the 2017 new season, as a result there has been a change in media relations and content produced. Since the takeover deal, fan engagement has been put at the forefront. Teams and drivers are now interacting and producing new unseen footage helping to close the gap and become attractive to a wider demographic.
