WhatsApp has brought image customisation tools like doodling, stickers and emojis to its camera functionality. Sound familiar? You’re not wrong – many have been drawing similarities between WhatsApp’s new addition and Snapchat’s own drawing features. It’s not the first time that a social platform seems to have taken inspiration from Snapchat in recent months, with Instagram’s Stories also bearing unerring resemblance to Snapchat Stories.
It’s goodbye to Meerkat
Once tipped to be the next big thing, Meerkat has been officially edged out of the market by live video behemoths Facebook Live and Periscope (as well as the emerging force that is YouTube live video).
It’s all over for Meerket, but it’s not all over for the Meerkat team: they have now shifted their efforts to their up-and-coming group video chat App, HouseParty.

Facebook Marketplace goes awry….
You may have seen the shiny new Facebook Marketplace appear on your app this week, but it is now conspicuously absent. Mark Zuckerberg and co. have put a quick stop to the rollout after an inundation of dogs, guns and other illegal items being put up for sale. Facebook are now looking at improving their systems for identifying such material before giving more people access.

‘Delete a Meal to Donate a Meal’
Land O’Lakes have launched an Instagram campaign smart and charitable in equal measure to do some good with the thousands of avocado on toast images being posted every day. The company has pledged to donate 11 meals to a food bank every time an Instagram user deletes one of those ubiquitous shots of an attractive plate via their deletetofeed.com microsite.
