The UK is Twitter’s most mobile market in all of Europe

452191281Fascinating research was uncovered by statistical goliaths Nielsen last week who revealed that as much as 80 per cent of Twitter’s UK traffic is being contemporarily driven by mobile.

Having long been impossible to ignore for any aspiring business, the latest research now suggests that UK-based Twitter visitors are not simply mobile mad, but they are also more engaged that your average Twitter user.

In short, mobile Twitter enthusiasts are 1.2 times as likely to engage with the platform on a daily basis than average users and more than half (58 per cent) of UK Twitter users access the service numerous times each day.

Although the picture is fairly similar around Europe with mobile Twitter traffic in Spain amounting 80 per cent, France totalling 68 per cent and the Netherlands amounting 72 per cent, the UK has come out on top.

Although social media campaigns have been commonplace amidst the modern-day digital agency landscape in recent years, the latest stats convey that live blogging and all-encompassing, efficient social services incorporating Twitter are now quite simply, a necessity.

Nielsen’s recent research also revealed that there is a significant relationship between Twitter and television.

Three in five Twitter users are found to be using the service in accordance with watching TV simultaneously.

This type of engagement is growing all the time with many television series now finding a slot to display their respective programme hashtag before the episode unfolds.
