google analyticsGoogle Analytics is continually growing and shows no signs of stopping as we speak, as it is firmly established as the analytics tool for publishers. In the latest Google Analytics summit various new developments were announced that will cater for companies’ more advanced analytical needs. Here are a few of the most useful features which were announced as the most recent Google Analytics summit.*

It’s easy as ABC…

Acquisition, Behaviour and Conversion. Ok, maybe it doesn’t sound so simple but the outcome is very easy to use. It is incredibly useful seeing how Google Analytics has now produced an acquisition report so companies can see how their site acquires the users, behaviours on the site after acquisition, and their conversion pattern. This feature is set to replace the traffic sources section as it provides a more detailed account on what’s happening.

Audience Reporting…

The days of knowing very little about your demographic are now over. With the Audience Reporting feature companies now have the ability to understand all three dimensions of their visitors: gender, age and interests. The benefits of this are immense. It gives you context to what was previously just a pile of data. This can help you target your content towards your demographic, making it much more focused and relevant. You can make your website more friendly towards a specific gender or age-range (especially in terms of e-commerce) and it also helps in researching audience interests.

Unified Segments

As brilliant as it was in 2008 to see the segments one session, dependent on one location, unified segments is a hundred-times better. Unified segments allow the user to see data from the past six months.  This is just one example below of looking at visits over the course of weekand  being able to see what device your website has been accessed on, which helps to make sure your site looks the best it can on all platforms.
